Drug rehab detox is for addicts and alcoholics. I think it is horrible that the medical community will not support the detoxification process. Insurance will cover a drug alcohol program only if it meets criteria. Anyone who has ever met a crack addict or pot smoker knows they are going to need true medical assistance to stop the cravings and get better.

Why does an alcoholic get preferential treatment at a drug detox? Because insurance will cover their stay at the drug and alcohol treatment center. As sad as it is, most addicts today are going to have to really get use to just stopping cold turkey. County programs many times require you to be completely sober for seventy two hours before they will admit you.
