About Southern Living At Home
Before the turn of the last century, a gentleman farmer from North Carolina began publishing a small agricultural magazine whose mission was to improve the livelihood of farm families throughout the South. His commitment to raise the standard of living in the South and to put family above all else has resonated with each generation that followed him. That determination for a better quality of life led to the birth of one of the most successful magazines published in America today. Southern Living came to life in the early '60s and embraced the warmth of friendship in a gracious home environment. In recent years, thousands of readers have called in to ask how they can find many of the beautiful products they see in the pages of Southern Living.
In response to those inquiries, a party plan company, Southern Living At HOME, was created in January 2001. Not only does this company bring the pages of the magazine to life, but it serves as a wonderful way for Southern Living to get closer to valued readers by inviting them to share in its success.
Southern Living At HOME is dedicated to the ideals of family, hard work, and quality of life upon which the magazine was founded. It stands committed to help entrepreneurs realize the dream of owning their own business and achieving personal and financial freedom.
About Me
I am originally from McAllen, Texas and moved into the Houston area shortly after my high school graduation. I have a full-time job with Hewlett-Packard Corporation and never imagined that a second job would be this rewarding!!I was searching for a way to make some extra income, but didn't want to commit to certain hours and certain days. Southern Living at Home has given me the opportunity to make that extra income on my own time table. This has been such an awesome experience for me!!
How did I come about the opportunity?
I was invited to a Southern Living at Home party and wasn't really sure what it was all about, but attended anyways. The consultant did a presentation on these awesome products and even showed us different ways of displaying them! She shared with us the hostess and consultant benefits and even offered a packet that we could take home with us so that we could review it at our own leisure. I loved the products and decided that I didn't just want to get free products by hosting a party, but I wanted to make some money by becoming a consultant. This company and the inspiring women that are part of my support team are awesome!! I honestly couldn't see myself conducting a presentation in people's homes, but with such a great support team that shares ideas, encourages me, and praises me, how could I go wrong??
Becoming a Southern Living at Home Consultant has been an uplifting experience!
